World Athletics Championships Day 3 Live – WCH Oregon 2022 Live: Joshua Cheptegi wins 10,000 M gold, Women’s 100 M Final LIVE: Fred Kerley wins the men’s 100m title on Day 2 of the World Athletics. On Day 3, the headline event was the women’s 100 M final as Jamaica’s Elaine Thomson Herrahoff qualified the fastest final. Joshua Cheptegi wins 10,000M Gold: Cheptegei became the fourth man to win the 10,000m world title. Earlier, his fellow Ethiopians Haile Gebrselassie and Kenenisa Bekele and Britain’s Mo Farah won World Championship gold.

“I knew if I could get down to the last fight I could control it and I could make it fast,” said Cheptegi, who won the World U20 title at Hayward Field eight years ago. “It was very emotional for me to come back to the USA where I started my international career in 2014. Now, I want to continue my dominance in long distance running and I hope I manage it.”

Female Hammer: Brooke Andersen led the United States to its second World Athletics Championships gold medal in the hammer. And it added another layer as Jenny’ Kasanavoid finished third at the WCH Oregon22 at the University of Oregon’s remodeled Hayward Field.

On Saturday, Chase Ealy became the first American woman to win a gold medal in the shot put at an outdoor world athletics championship. On Sunday, the US won two medals in the women’s throwing event for the first time at an outdoor world athletics championship.

“I think we’re all becoming productive,” said Andersen, who entered the WCH Oregon22 as the world leader at 79.02m. “We’ve all put in a lot of hard work over the years, and I think it’s starting to show now.”

Women’s 100 M semis and finals scheduled for today: Earlier, the women engaged in some top-notch sprinting during seven heats, before the men went on to compete in the final.

Dina Asher-Smith and Shelley-Anne Fraser-Pryce won eyeballs with their excellent runs, clocking 10.84 and 10.87 seconds respectively, the two best timings during the heats.

They are not done yet with the women’s 100m semi-finals and final scheduled for Monday. 24 women made it to the semi-finals of the showpiece event.
