Rohit Sharma had a turbulent time at the crease as the Indian captain struggled to find any rhythm in a weak display at bat. It was Rohit’s responsibility to bat first, assess the condition and return to his groin, but the hit-man lost his wicket as he fought against the moving ball.

Rohit was particularly annoyed by Indian Jaspreet Bumrah and the famous Krishna, who were from Leicestershire in the practice game. The seamers bowled behind the length and at speed, not giving Rohit a chance to play his shots. Bumrah was also hit in the body, the Indian captain quickly called a physio.

However, Roman Walker gave up the wicket as Rohit tried to handle the situation. The Indian captain tried to pull off a slightly shorter pitch delivery, only one top edge to play directly into the hands of Abidin Sakande.

Rohit’s IPL was weak and the Indian captain would expect his form to return before the series. The Hit-Man was India’s highest run-scorer in four matches last year, helping India to a 2-1 lead in the series.
