Miomi Kekmanovich vs. Daniel Medvedev
Danil Medvedev, who reached the quarterfinals at the Roland Garros last year, advanced to the next round with a 6-3 6-4 6-3 win over Serbia’s Lasslo Dizer on Thursday. Favorite to the spectators, this victory marked the beginning of his fight against world number 28 Miomi Kekmanovich.
This will be the first meeting between the two stars and Medvedev will be the most favorite. Miomi has already had a good campaign so far, beating Thomas Martin Echeverry in a straight set in the first round, before knocking out Alexander Bublik in a four-set thriller. Kekmanovich will play in his first third round match at the French Open.
Michael Eamer vs. Stefanos Sitsipus
Mikel Yamar started his campaign in a great style by defeating Australian James Duckworth 6-2, 6-4, 6-2 in straight sets. The Swedish taker then defeated Dan Evans of Britain 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 in a four-set thriller to take on Seatsipas.
Greek Tess, meanwhile, who reached the Roland Garros final last year, began his campaign with a win over Lorenzo Musetti in a five-set thriller. After World No. 4, Zedenek sealed his progress to the next round with a four-set win against Kolar late on Thursday. Ymer and Tsitsipas have both met three times in their careers, with Tsitsipas winning all the games so far.
Iga Suatek vs. Danka Kovinic
Iga Schwartz, who is looking to win her second French Open title, will face unseeded Danka Kovinic in the third round. Sweettech is in the dream race this year, winning five titles in a row and looking forward to winning its sixth in a row. He has dropped just four games so far in the first two rounds of the tournament as he has beaten Lesia Surenko and Alison Risk in straight sets.
Kovinik, meanwhile, has not had a good year so far as he has won only one ITF title in Spain. At Roland Garros, she defeated 25th seed Ludmila Samsonova in the first round and then won a straight set against Anna Carolina Smidlover. However, he will have to face a big challenge against Suatech.
Paula Badosa vs. Veronica Kudarmetova
Third-seeded Paula Badosa is looking forward to her first Grand Slam title as she faces Veronica Kudarmetova in the third round. Badosa won his first round against Fian Ferro with just two games to spare, but in the second round he had to play three-setter to advance to the 32nd round against Caza Juvan.
29th seed Kudarmetova has already played a three-setter in her first round against Lin Zhur and won a straight set against Alexandra Krunik in the second round. Kudermetova is looking forward to her first appearance in the fourth round of any Grand Slam event.
Jessica Pegula vs. Tamara Zidanesek
11th seed Jessica Pegula, who is in great form this year, will face Tamara Zidanesek in the third round. Pegula was runners-up at the Madrid Open this year. At Roland Garros, he defeated Wang Qiang in a straight set in the first round and then a three-set victory over Anhelina Kalinina in the second round.
Zidanek, meanwhile, entered the third round after his opponent Mayar Sharif withdrew from the second round, even though he did not play it due to injury. Zidanesek defeated Claire Liu in the first round in a straight set.
