According to Cricbuzz, the experienced batsman has been ruled out of the IPL 2022 and England tour due to a Grade III hamstring injury. But Cheteshwar Pujara is ready to return after being impressed by the county championship in England.
“Pujara was never out of our plan. He had to get his form back and I think he did it. Although his century came in the second division of the county, it is never easy to face the seamers in English conditions. - Cheteshwar Pujara will return in the England series but Rahane has been dropped.
- In addition to Shubhaman Gill, Hanuma Bihari and Shreyas Iyer will be taken on a tour of England.
- India will play a warm-up match in England before the fifth Test against England on July 1-5.
- Both the parties will be selected at an election meeting in Mumbai on May 23.

Ajinkya Rahane will report to the NCA and continue her rehabilitation which is expected to take 4-6 weeks. He will also miss the Ranji Trophy knockout.
For England’s limited overs series, fitness tests like Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Chahar are expected to remain. Hardik Pandya will also join the team after finishing the South Africa series.
