Sergio Perez has signed a two-year deal with the Red Bull

Red Bull chief Christian Horner was delighted with the Mexican victory in Monte Carlo and said, “Since joining Oracle Red Bull Racing, Checo has done a great job. Repeatedly he has proven himself to be just a great team player but as his level of comfort has increased he has become a real force to be reckoned with at the sharp end of the grid.”

“He has taken another step this year and the gap between world champion Max has closed significantly, as evidenced by his great pole position in Jeddah earlier this year and his great win over Monaco last weekend. For us, it was a no-brainer to capture his speed, race craft and experience and we are glad that Checo will continue to race for the team until 2024. In partnership with Max, we believe we have a driver partnership that could give us the biggest rewards in F1. “ Horner added.

The Mexican joined the Red Bull last season and won just one of the matches against Azerbaijan. He even had four more podium finishes that saw him finish fourth in the drivers’ position last year.

He has taken his last year’s performance one step further this year by securing a three-second spot and on top of that he also won the Monaco Grand Prix last Sunday. Meanwhile, it puts him third in the standings, just 15 points behind his teammate Max Verstappen.

On Tuesday, the Red Bull confirmed that they had given Perez a two-year contract extension, marking the arrangement during the weekend race in Mexican Monaco.
