Michael Chandler rejects Dustin Poirier: Michael Chandler After knocking out Tony Ferguson in UFC 274, he called all his potential opponents, Nate Diaz, Connor McGregor, Charles Oliveira and Justin Gethseau, but ignored Poirier’s name.

His return to the front kick kickout lightweight division caused a whirlwind reaction. He also expressed interest in going to the welterweight division.

He appeared on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour show to talk about his knockout and subsequent endeavors.

When asked about Dustin Poirier’s fight, he said,

“It simply came to our notice then. I have no interest in fighting Dustin, to be honest. To be quite honest, I think he’s a great friend. I think I like him for sports, but I also think that whenever I came to the organization I was completely ignored and sidelined. He completely ignored me, he acted as if I didn’t deserve to be where I was.

Michael Chandler went on to say, “Maybe it’s a little too personal, but I don’t think Charles Oliveira either. Is Dustin a draw?” I guess he’s the No. 2 guy [in the UFC rankings] Now, but he’s only at No. 2 and I don’t know how active he will be. I saw him tweeting that I was naming everyone else but he seemed to think I didn’t want to fight him for technical reasons or not, but it was as if I had forgotten about him.

Michael Chandler is definitely aiming for the title. Despite Dustin being second in the lightweight division, Iron still refuses to fight him.

However, ‘The Diamond’ was dormant for some time, staying at the top and the top fighters refusing to fight it may not be a positive sign for his career.

Finally, fingers are crossed about Chandler and Poirier’s next opponent, and the lightweight division makes a spectacular comeback and downhill.
