In the 40-shot final event, the 46-year-old from Uttar Pradesh posted a sensational score of 37 to beat Korea’s Minsu Kim (36) and Britain’s Ben Llewellyn (26), who won silver and bronze respectively.

The two-time Olympian, who is the oldest member of the Indian team in Changwan this year, won silver at the 2016 World Cup in Rio de Janeiro.

Earlier in the day, the trio of Anjum Mudgil, Ashi Chowkse and Sift Kaur Samra won bronze in the women’s 50m rifle 3P team event.

The Indians secured a comfortable podium finish in the bronze medal match by defeating the Austrian team of Shailene Waibel, Nadine Ungarank and Rebecca Koek 16-6.

With a gold and a bronze, India still topped the medal tally with 13 (5 gold, 5 silver and 3 bronze) medals.
