With just three wins in 9 matches, CSK is 9th in the points table and RCB is 6th with 10 points. But both are equally risky for losses.
Why should RCB win against CSK?
- After losing six out of nine games, CSK can no longer tolerate defeat.
- CSK will need to win the next five matches to score 10 points and hopefully other results will be in contention with 16 points.
- RCB, who are on a three-match losing streak, have it bouncing back and keeping the promotion on track.
- With four wins in as many games, RCB can seal the deal as they have 10 points.
- Rate means RCB will have to compete with CSK, DC, PBKS for 4th place.
Virat Kohli vs MS Dhoni: But it is also a battle between the two greats of the game. Virat Kohli is on his way back as a player after suffering the biggest form of his career. Kohli was dismissed for two consecutive Golden Ducks before managing another single-digit score. He scored a half-century after 14 matches in the last match against Gujarat Titans.
For MS Dhoni, it is a matter of proving that CSK can bounce back even in the injury crisis. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway shot in the last match and Dhoni would expect his batsmen to deliver the product as the bowling department is inexperienced.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (6th, 10th point): Royal Challengers Bangalore at Faf du Plessis (RCB) Has registered 5 wins in 10 matches. However, the three-time finalists have suffered a setback with three consecutive defeats, the latest coming in the last over against the Gujarat Titans. The franchises have made life difficult for themselves and will hope that the outcome of the final half of the tournament will go their way.
- To qualify, RCB has to win at least 3 out of 4 matches.
- But the three wins should be at good intervals as RCB has a negative net run rate of -0.558.
- Two wins may not be enough for RCB as each rate will further reduce NRR.
- RCB Remaining Match: CSK, SRH, PBKS, GT
Chennai Super Kings (9th, 6th point): After the resignation of Rabindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni has returned to the captaincy. CSK helped the change of leadership as they returned to the winning streak with a 13-run win over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday. Now, CSK have to win the remaining five matches and hopefully everything else will go their way to keep their weak hopes alive.
- CSK must win all their remaining matches to qualify for the playoffs.
- Even with 16 points, CSK’s path can be tough and wins against MI and GT will be crucial.
- CSK Remaining Match: RCB, DC, MI, GT, RR
Laughter in both camps just 24 hours before the important match! Friendship across borders.
