Jorge Campillo is the current clubhouse leader of the Horizon Irish Open at Mount Juliet.

The Spaniard shot 68 in the second round to go with yesterday’s 65 to finish halfway through the 2022 Horizon Irish Open -11.

“I’ve played great in the last two days, so I can’t complain,” Campillo admitted. “It was a great two days. Today was a little harder than yesterday and I was able to play well, so I’m very happy with it.

“It has started to rain towards the last few holes for you. You’re done, you’re done and you can relax and keep your feet up. If the rain in the afternoon is harder, for the afternoon players, what do you think they can expect? How will the course be tactical? “

Jorge Campillo is one shot ahead of Adrian Merank of Poland and Fabrizio Janotti of Paraguay who scored 67 and 69 runs respectively today.

Padreg Harrington is the top Irishman at the clubhouse. Dubliner signed for today (-1) 71, following his 70 on Thursday.

Harrington’s round included six birdies, two bogies and a double bogey on the seventh hole.

Semas Power and Neil Kearney, who were the top Irish players in the first round, are currently -6 and -4, respectively, and are still on the course.
