SAFF U-20 Championship 2022: India 1-0 Maldives in SAFF U20 Championship: India is set to host the 4th edition of the SAFF U-18 Championship which has been named the SAFF U-20 Championship back after a gap of 3 years. A total of five countries of the Indian subcontinent will participate in this competition, including the hosts. India who are currently the defending champions of this South Asian Football Federation tournament will host all the group stages and finals at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar. Along with young Blue Tigers, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives are participating in this competition. With FIFA earlier banning Pakistan in 2021, the team has been banned from participating in the tournament in this edition.
However, there are strict eligibility criteria for players participating in this tournament. Only players born after 1st January 2003 can participate in the tournament. Each squad must have a minimum pool of 16 players and a maximum of 23 players. Each team must have at least 2 goalkeepers.
