Will India continue their T20 system in ODIs? India will not go ball-ball from one ball but the batsmen are expected to take their fearless approach from the shortest format to ODIs.

Considering India’s high-risk play helped them win the series against England and the ODIs have become an extension of the shortest format, captain Rohit Sharma sees no reason for his team to back away from that approach.

England have redefined the way ODI cricket was played and ended their impressive run with the 2019 World Cup trophy. It is no exaggeration to say that India’s new approach to small formats is inspired by English templates.

“All matches are important to us. We can’t play thinking ODIs are not a priority. We have to keep in mind the workload of each player. We will change but our ultimate goal is to win the match. ” Rohit said this after the third T20 in Nottingham on Sunday.

“For us, the purpose is to understand white ball cricket, how to play, the new boys are playing. An extension of 50 overs T20. Maybe you are taking less risk in ODIs than in T20 cricket but you have to take it. ”

The Oval will have an optional training session for the team with a time of rapid change between the T20 and ODI series.
