England are in real danger of being relegated to the League of Nations after a 4-0 home defeat to ruthless Hungary on Tuesday.
This then became even more ugly for England, as Jossolt Nagy and Daniel Gazdag scored on both sides of John Stones’ red card, the worst home defeat of the Three Lions since 1928.

Although England enjoyed a positive start, they found themselves behind in the 16th minute as the Stones inadvertently returned to the danger zone and Sallai was ahead to push Aaron Ramsdale.

The hosts moved on after the break, but it was not a harbinger of significant improvement.
The game surpassed them with 70 minutes on the clock, as Martin Adam hit a Calvin Phillips error before feeding Salvin Phillips, who shot Ramsdale in the leg.

And things have gotten worse. Harry Kane’s header hits the crossbar and it is 3-0 soon after, when Nagy hits from 25 yards out.
A hard-fought second yellow card for the Stones after an off-the-ball clash added to England’s woes, and Hungary completed their humiliation for a cheek chip from Gazdag.
