Rohit Sharma Fitness Test: The 35-year-old All-Format captain made his 1st net session on Sunday. The session did not last more than 30 minutes.

He will appear for a fitness test on Monday to determine his fitness.

According to medical protocol, any player who is out of quarantine is required to undergo mandatory cardiovascular examination. These tests are performed to test the capacity of the lungs and how it works after COVID-19.

He missed the rescheduled fifth Test against England after testing positive on the second day of a four-day warm-up match against Leicestershire.

The Indian team was desperate to get Rohit to play but he tested positive three times before the day of the game and so India got Jaspreet Bumrah as the new captain.

The T20 series will start from July 7. This means that the player has a lot more time to get back to full fitness and lead Team India in the series.
