  • 228: Babar Azam
  • 232: Virat Kohli

Babar Azam has surpassed several renowned players on his way to register this iconic landmark. Earlier Virat Kohli was the fastest Asian cricketer to register 10000 international runs. Kohli achieved this feat in just 232 innings. But Babar Azam went ahead and quickly achieved this record in 4 innings. Babar took 228 innings to achieve this feat.

Some of the great legends of the game are also on its honor roll. Third in the list are Sunil Gavaskar, Javed Miandad followed by Sourav Ganguly at fifth.

Babar Azam came to the rescue for his team in the first Test match against Sri Lanka at Gully. Chasing the first innings score of 223 runs set by the hosts, Pakistan found themselves in a big trouble as the Lankan bowlers wreaked havoc on the Pakistani batsmen. With 6 batsmen scoring in single figures, Babar Azam took it upon himself to help his team overcome this predicament.

Babar Azam remains unbeaten with a century on Day 2 of Sri Lanka vs Pakistan 1st Test match. With Azam still at the crease, Pakistan are currently trailing by a little over 20 runs and Babar will be aiming to continue the onslaught with Naseem Shah standing at the last wicket.
