There is no u20 World Cup but we have a U20 summer series and you can watch France vs Ireland live here.

Head coach Richie Murphy has named the Ireland U20 team sponsored by PwC, the opener of Friday night’s U20 Six Nations Summer Series against France at the Paninini Center in Verona (Irish time 6pm, live on the Six Nations YouTube channel).

The Ulster back row will captain Ireland for the opening game of the Ruben Crowthers Tournament, with 14 players, including Murphy, present during his Grand Slam-winning campaign in his opening XV to fight Les Bleus on Friday night.

Winger Shaw McCarthy is in line for his three-match debut behind Ireland U20, where he has been joined by Dylan O’Grady and Itzel King.

Fiona Gibbons, an outstanding performer for Ireland during the Championship, partnered with Daniel Hawks in midfield, signed at half-back with Munster pair Tony Butler and Ethan Kaflan.

In the pack, Oisin Michel, James McCormick and Darragh McSweeney have been selected in the front row, where the ever-present Conor O’Tighearnaigh joins Adam McNami’s engine room.

James McNabney, Crothers and Lorcan McLoughlin have completed the first Ireland XV of the Summer Series.

Murphy has plenty of options on the bench, allowing 26 players to name an extended match day squad for the tournament.

Friday’s match is available to watch here through the Six Nations YouTube channel.
