Desperate for revenge on Ferrari Red Bull

F1 Monaco GP Live: Follow Live Updates – The seventh race of the F1 2022 calendar will be held at the iconic Monaco GP. In the oldest F1 circuit ever used since the 1950s, title contender Charles Leclerc will fight world champion Max Verstappen. With a major indication of rain in the forecast, the roads in Monte Carlo could be even more deadly as the Monaco rain feature calendar could spice up the fight for the top spot by becoming the first race of the year. Max Verstappen had quite a strange outing in qualifying because he was constantly out of motion even from his compatriot Sergio Perez from Ferraris. Due to the red flag, the Dutch race could not extend its lap time after the start of Q3 because it had to settle for 4th place behind Verstappen Perez.

The Ferrari of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sange were unmatched for their speed as both prancing horses were locked in the front row. As it is difficult to overtake in Monte Carlo, Ferrari will be desperate for a 1-2 finish. Homeboy, Leclerc will be keen to win his first Home Grand Prix and break the curse of his home race.

McLaren’s Lando Norris climbed to 5th place with a flying lap at the end of Q3. Mercedes’ Jorge Russell is ranked 6th after a slightly slower pace than Ferrari and Red Bull. Alpine’s Fernando Alonso is ranked 7th and his old teammate Lewis Hamilton has to stay in 8th place.

Hamilton had to give up his last lap, and so did Sergio Perez after losing his back and crashing into the obstacles just before the tunnel. With 30 seconds left for Q3, the session was soon adjourned. Sebastian Vettel and Esteban Okon are ninth and tenth, respectively.
