Most Anticipated Trilogy: The UFC boss has ruled out Nate Diaz’s final fight in the UFC and hopes for a trilogy between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz.

“I care a lot about Nate,” White said in his post-fight press conference after Tuesday’s Contender Series event. “I like Nate, and Nate came here, way before that fight, and we were talking about it being his last fight, and I said, ‘Listen, kid. The fights Nate Diaz has had and the incredible fights and big fights he’s had with us. Think about what you’ve done, go do what you want to do.’

“But fighting him is not as easy as it seems. Everyone’s like, ‘Well, why not fight?’ Well, he asked for Francis Ngannou. I could go on forever, but I won’t. We’ve done it. That’s what he wanted to fight for.”

“Connor isn’t ready yet,” White said. “Connor’s leg is still not healed. Nate can obviously sit around and wait it out, but he doesn’t want that. I don’t know what he has planned or what he is thinking, but right now, he is ready to fight. He wants to go, and we are going.

“It’s one of those fights that you can do at any time, but no, it never worked out that way. Listen, if you get two guys like Connor and Nat, who want to fight each other bad enough, it’s going to happen.”

“No, it’s not like, ‘Oh my God, I never got a chance to make a 3,'” he said. “The first two were great. The first round was insane with Conor and Knott fighting for the first time. Conor was landing these crazy bombs, then Diaz came out in that second round. It was crazy, and then the second fight was great. If it happens, it will happen, but we’ve had enough of the first two.

“We made it, and here we are,” he said. “And it’s a good fight. It’s a fight people want to see. It’s a fight that people will be interested in, so we’re going to do it.”

Nate Diaz stands as a behemoth in the sport, despite not winning a title in his entire career, he has notable victories over UFC historical champs Conor McGregor, Donald Cerrone, Rafael dos Anjos and more.

Diaz, inactive in the UFC for a year with his last two losses to Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal, is awaiting his last fight under contract.

Fans hoped that a trilogy fight with his significant rival Conor McGregor would be his last fight. However, Conor McGregor’s return is still not confirmed. The Stockholm fighter has polished his skills for any potential next opponent.

‘The Notorious’ was the highest paid UFC fighter and made history by becoming a double division champion. Unfortunately, he suffered a brutal leg injury at UFC 264 against Dustin Poirier in the first round, breaking his left fibula and tibia.

McGregor has been out of the fight game for a long time and he announced his return with a spectacular transformation and training video.

McGregor’s return was expected to be one of the most historic comebacks in UFC history, with potential opponents lined up as Nate Diaz.
