CWG 2022 Badminton Live – India beat Singapore Badminton: Defending champions India defeated Singapore 3-0 in the mixed team semi-final on Monday to reach the final. Mixed doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the mixed doubles tie 21-11, 21-12, PV Sindhu then won 21-11, 21-12 to give the defending champions a 2-0 lead. Lakshya Sen then helped India to the final by defeating reigning world champions Loh Ken UK in straight games. In the first match of the tournament, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the men’s doubles as India took a 1-0 lead over Singapore in the semi-finals. The Indian pair were too good with the smash as the Singaporean shuttlers failed to contain it on several occasions. The scoreline of 21-11, 21-12 showed the dominance of the Indian pair in the match.

In the second match of the tie, PV Sindhu easily won the first game 21-11 in the women’s singles competition against Jia Men Yeo of Singapore. He was at the top of his game and Xia Men Yeo had no answer in the first game.
In the second game, it was another dominant performance from Olympic medalist Sindhu as she outclassed Yeo Jia Min in a 21-11, 21-12 victory.

In the third match of the tie, Lakshya Sen won his first game 21-18 against Ken Yu Low of Singapore. Sen made a sensational comeback as he trailed early in the game but bounced back well to win the first game. He managed to defeat Qin Yu Loh 21-18 in an intense first game of the men’s singles.

In the second game, Sen defeated Kin Yu Loh 21-18, 21-15 in the men’s singles round as India beat Singapore 3-0.
Lakshya Sen completed a straight Games win and it was another smooth ride for India as they beat Singapore 3-0 to enter the final and now secure at least a silver medal.
