Ravi Dahiya

Ravi Dahiya is a sure shot contender for the medal. The 24-year-old, who has been in great form since the Tokyo Olympics, where he won a silver medal, will be making his first appearance at the Commonwealth Games and will look to add medals to his kitty from this tournament. He will play in the 57 kg category. Dahia missed the World Championships this year to attend the Commonwealth Games trials. At the trials, he easily edged past his opponents to book a spot in the eudranial event.

Bajrang Punia

India’s Bajrang Punia has been struggling with his form and fitness since suffering a knee injury during the Tokyo Olympics. The attacking side of his game has taken a hit since then and a fully fit Bajrang will now look to use his time at the Commonwealth Games to regain his form and bring back his A-game.

Vinesh Phogat

Vinesh Phogat, who was expected to be one of the strong contenders for a medal at the Tokyo Olympics, made a shock exit from the quadrennial event without a medal and since then Phogat has not been at his best. Vinesh faced some problems from the sport as he was suspended by the Wrestling Federation after the Tokyo Games. Vinesh will now look to use the quadrennial event to get back to his best form. He won gold in the 50kg category last time and will now play in the 53kg category.

Witness owner

Rio Olympics bronze medalist Sakshi Malik hasn’t been at her best in the past few years. She, however, returned to the qualifying trials by defeating Tokyo Olympian Sonam Malik in the qualifying trials to book a place in the quadrennial event. He will now look to return to form. Having bagged a bronze medal in the 2018 edition, he will be aiming for a better performance in Birmingham.
