Miami GP Live: Red Bull returns to top as Ferrari Trail, Mercedes showing good signs: Q2 session in progress. The Miami Grand Prix is โ€‹โ€‹making its debut for the first time and will be the second race in the United States after the Austin Grand Prix. The track is built around the car park at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens.

  • The drivers dropped out of the Q2 session were Fernando Alonso, Jorge Russell, Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo and Mick Schumacher.
  • The Q2 session is over.
  • Less than three minutes left until the end of the Q2 session.
  • Both McLaren drivers are in the elimination zone, as Norris is 11th and Ricardo is 15th.
  • Red Bull drivers occupy 1-2 spots and Ferrari drivers occupy 3-4 spots overall. Lewis Hamilton sees himself in fifth place as George Russell drops to fifteenth and fights for the elimination.

In the FP3 session, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez took first place, followed by Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen in second and third place.

How qualification sessions work

The qualifying round will begin today at 22:30 IST. The qualification session is divided into three parts, Q1, Q2 and Q3. The Q1 lasts 18 minutes and has all 20 cars on the grid At the end of Q1, five slower cars were dropped. Drivers who finish 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20 are excluded.

The Q2 session lasts 15 minutes and has 15 cars on the grid. Slower cars were again dropped from 11th to 15th position. The Q3 lasts 12 minutes and has 10 cars on the grid The position that drivers will finish in Q3 will be their starting grid position for the race.
