Busta won the first set 7-5. The 2nd set was a neck to neck affair as Evans matched Busta stoke to stoke. Evans won the 2nd in a tough tiebreak. The third right from the start was a cakewalk for the Spanish player as he stormed to the final with a 6-2 lead.
Hrukacz, on the other hand, lost the first set to Rudd but easily won the next two 6-3, 6-2.

Evans, 32, overcame a poor opening set to beat American Tommy Paul in the quarterfinals in Montreal on Friday. British No. 1 Paul rose 16 places in the ATP rankings on the back of that result and can add another 250 points to his live tally of 1,520, which would see him break into the top 20 for the first time.
“Carreno is a great player, an experienced professional,” Evans said before the match. “[He is] Much underestimated. He is a very tough opponent.”
Spaniard Carreno Busta reached the fourth Masters semi-final after defeating British young Jack Draper 7-6 (7-4), 6-1.
“It’s very important for my confidence, for myself,” Carreno Busta said. “I’m playing very hard. I know I have a chance to go to the finals tomorrow. I have to be 100 percent again. I must recover as much as possible.
“Evans is having an incredible week, so we’ll see. But I have one more chance to go to the final.”
Carreno Busta is already assured of a return to the top 20 as he is ranked 17th in the live rankings and is guaranteed 16th place if he reaches the final.

- He then won the second round match against fifth seed Andrey Rublev 6–4, 6–4. In the third game, she defeated 10th seed Taylor Fritz 7–6, 1–6, 7–5 to reach the quarterfinals.
- In the quarterfinals, he met Tommy Paul and won against him in three-setters 1–6, 6–3, 6–4.
